The new town hall was built on the foundations of the previous one in 1829-1832 and is still one of the city's landmarks. The impressive red brick building resembles a medieval fortified castle. It is in the neo-Gothic style and was built in the shape of the letter C. Inside the town hall there are: the Municipal Tourist Information, the Contemporary Art Gallery, the City Council and the Civil Registry Office. You can also see models of 5 town halls from different eras for free. In front of the building there is a granite monument symbolizing the globe.
