Since Bogumił Hoffa, fascinated by its folk culture, is considered the father of the development of Wisła, when visiting the town you should simply go to the Beskid Museum. Andrzej Podżorski, located in an inn built in 1794.
The permanent exhibition of the facility documents the material culture of the Silesian highlanders - apart from Wisła, also Istebna, Jaworzynka, Koniaków and Brenna. There you can see traditional highland costumes, tools for processing wool and linen, blacksmith, cooper and carpentry tools, as well as ready-made fruits of the work of local craftsmen. The museum also reconstructed the interior of the highlander's chamber. Temporary exhibitions present, among others: photographs and folk art products.
Those particularly interested in the topic can use the library containing a collection of literature on the Silesian Beskids and its culture. The facility has been operating since 1964, and the person who contributed to its creation was its today's patron, Andrzej Podżorski, a teacher at a local school, who, like Hoff, was enchanted by the richness of highlander culture. If someone, after visiting the museum, still feels unsatisfied with the local folk culture, they can go to the "U Niedźwiedzia" Gallery (ul. Stellera 2) located right next to it. The "Grupa Twórców Wiślanie" Association exhibits its works there, most of which can be purchased.
In October 2010, the Beskid Museum in Wisła was enriched with the Enclave of Wooden Construction. It is a complex of several workshops and cottages reconstructed in accordance with the regional construction tradition. This mini-open-air museum consists of a blacksmith's forge (where work is in progress), a shepherd's hut, a peasant's cottage and a beekeeping apiary. Additionally, in the summer there is an interesting herbarium in the enclave.
The entire facility is a branch of the Museum of Cieszyn Silesia, with its headquarters in Cieszyn.
